TYE - Where the wild things are

A few weeks ago Cory Godbey created a site for a tribute to the classic book "Where the wild things are" for a personal admiration to the book and his author,Maurice Sendak. I LOVE this book, it had great impact in my childhood and become to an illustrator.Thanks to God and Cory, I had the opportunity to participate in this tribute! to my surprise it ended up being a great virtual birthday card for Mr. Sendak this past June 10!!! The site is full of fantastic pieces done by awesome artists and you can see them in TERRIBLEYELLOWEYES. Today I make an special post with the illo and the making process. Enjoy! PS. Oh, in the photos you see me working, is my girlfriend who is behind the camera : )

Hace unas semanas Cory Godbey creó un sitio para hacer tributo al libro "Donde viven los monstruos", clásico de la literatura infantil y escrito por Maurice Sendak. Este libró marcó mi infancia y siempre lo he querido y admirado. Pues gracias a Dios y a Cory, tuve la oportunidad de participar en este homenaje! que para sorpresa mía terminó siendo una gran tarjeta virtual de cumpleaños para el propio señor Sendak este pasado 10 de junio :0

Happy b-day Pato!
75 Years! I remember 50 anniversary in 1984, in my 7 birthday... My father rented a videotape of Donald with interviews, shorts, and a mixture of animation and real image. I remember to sing the opening song without understanding anything of what he said (and I said) in english he he!
One of my fondest memories and a huge influence in my career without even suspecting.

75 Años! Recuerdo cuando cumplió 50 en 1984, yo tenía 7 años...y mi padre me alquiló un video en Betamax con mezcla de imagen real y animación. Me fascinaba el open del especial, recuerdo verlo y verlo sin cansarme! Uno de mis recuerdos más queridos y de segura influencia en mi decisión de tener esta profesión sin ni siquiera sospecharlo.

(FRANCIA) - El museo de arte Thomas-Henry ubicado en Cherbourg-Octeville está presentando en este momento la exposición Hugo Pratt, Périples secrets reuniendo cerca de 150 obras del maestro entre bocetos, grabados, serigrafías. Hasta septiembre 20 y la entrada es libre.

Este mes comencé a tomar un taller con Santiago y está muy chévere, acá está mi primera historia.

This month I began to take a workshop with Santiago and it goes great! This is my first tale.
- El dadofante es un animal muy interesante...cada vez que ve caminando a una jiraficha, da vueltas en el suelo hasta quedar en alguna posición y esperar que su amiga avance...
- The dicelephant is a very interesting animal: Every time he see walking a giraffe, he turns on the floor until to stay in a random position and wait his friend advance...
Lo que más disfruta, es sentarse a leer las reglas del juego de la vida.
What he enjoys most is to sit down and read the game rules of...life.

Hora de hacer deporte

En la playa

Por fin me vi "La ciencia de los sueños" (La Science des Rêves) de Michel Gondry, me sentí muy identificado en algunas partes, sobretodo me recordó un sueño que tuve la semana de entrega de mi tesis de Universidad, en el que luego de tanto trabajo me iba de vacaciones por fin a descansar a Cartagena y al llegar al mar todo era de papel...fue terrible! entraba y el agua no me mojaba! era papel y más papel ja ja..que loca que es la mente


I finally saw "The science of sleep" (La Science des Rêves) from Michel Gondry, I felt very identified in some parts, especially it reminded me when I was finishing my thesis in College days, I had a dream which after hard work I finally went on vacation to rest in Cartagena and to arrive in sea it was all paper ... it was terrible! the water doesn't wet me! all was paper and more paper ha ha... crazy mind
